In January 2026, Laurie joined a two-week cycling tour of Cuba organized by Intrepid Traveler, an experience global tour operator. With a group of 13 fellow travelers, she explored the island in a comfortable, air conditioned bus, biking 25 - 30 miles each day. Cycling allowed her to immerse herself in Cuba's breathtaking landscapes, rugged mountains, protected biospheres, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, white sand beaches, dynamic street culture and historic sites.
