Children’s Programming Schedule

Ed The Wizard: Inspired by Albus Dumbledore of the Harry Potter series, Ed the Wizard uses comedy, magic, and suspense to show how reading and comprehension skills are an important part of everyday life. Ed will demonstrate how reading provides inspiration, imagination, and expansion of the mind. Throughout the performance the audience is challenged with questions, and the show concludes with a question and answer session. This is a highly interactive performance that encourages audience participation! 10:00-11:00, Monday, 6/27.

STEAM: A preschool – 2nd grade program focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Includes, a story, a lesson, and snack. 10:00 – 11:00, Tuesday 7/5 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/2, 8/9.

Storytime: A preschool – 2nd grade traditional library story hour, including stories, crafts and snack. Older children are welcome to attend. 10:00 – 11:00, Thursday 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11.

Artist’s Workshop: 2nd – 6th Grade. Students will learn various techniques and have fun exploring their artistic side. The interests of participants will help determine the projects children get to work on. 1:30-3:00, Thursday, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18.

Game Day: All Ages. Puzzles, card games, and board games will be available throughout the day. Feel free to bring your own games to share. 12:00 – 5:00 every Friday from 6/24 – 8/26, 10:00 – 2:00.
It’s not necessary to sign up for the above programs in advance, or attend every week. The programs are designed to accommodate busy summer schedules!

Painting Parties!
Jeannie Compter, from Dalton’s 2 Flights Up, will be leading groups of 20 budding artists through the creation of a painting on canvas. This program is similar to the popular “paint and sip” programs for adults.

Wednesday, July 13th 6:00-8:00: Ocean Fish, 8-13yr olds
Monday, July 18th 10:00-12:00: Penguins, 4-7yr olds
Wednesday, August 10th 6:00-8:00: Campfire, 8-13yr olds

Attendance at Painting Parties is limited to 20. Signup sheets will be available at the library 2 weeks before each event. We will attempt to accommodate walk-ins, but can’t guarantee spots unless your child is signed up in advance.
